A Harrogate-based charity were honoured at two Royal garden parties last week.
Autism Angels were invited to attend a garden party held at Buckingham Palace on 14th May, hosted by Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The event was supported by the Department of Education to celebrate those working in education and skills.
The invitation followed the presentation earlier in the year of a High Sheriff Award for Resilience; reflecting the work the charity does with children and young people helping them ‘bounce back’ despite setbacks and difficulties.
Sarah Kekoa, founder of Autism Angels who attended the garden party, said:
“It was an incredible honour to be part of such an amazing day and to be recognised for the work we do with children and young people.”
Autism Angels volunteer Ash and team member Sarah Morrison were also in attendance at Buckingham Palace last week for a Royal Garden Party hosted by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.

Ash was invited following the completion of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award.
A spokesperson for Autism Angels said:
“Ash is a true inspiration and we couldn’t be more proud.
“Ash is a great advocate in sharing their story, showing others who may be struggling not to give up, that once you find your own path, anything is possible.”
Autism Angels is based just outside of Harrogate and was established in 2012.
It has supported thousands of children and families across North Yorkshire, providing a range of bespoke services including an Alternative Wellbeing and Learning Provision, Equine Therapy and Therapeutic Coaching, bringing together a community of families on a similar journey.
